About the shelters
  • Shelters are places where people can escape from emergency situations in the mountains. Shelters have various goods such as cooking ware, extra foods, fuel, bedding and sleeping bag, communication faculty, etc.
    Supervisors may stay in the shelters depending on the circumstances, and faculties could vary by shelter.
Guidance
  • You are not allowed to make a reservation at the box office on the day. It is for the safety of other people and fluid use of shelters.
  • You must check the entrance/closure hours of Jiri-san refer to the "trekking time regulation" before using Jiri-san shelters.
    - You cannot go into the mountain after closing time.
    • Reservation

      - from the first day of the month, from the 16th of the month to the end of the month
      - from the 15th of the month, from the first day of the next month to the 15th of the next month
      ※If the launch date(1st and 15th) is holiday, it will be delayed to the nearest weekday.
      ※If the end of the month is holiday, the reservation available is extended to the end of the holiday.
    • Wait-list System (for Awaiters)

      If the reservation is changed or canceled, it will be passed to the waiters on the waiting list automatically.
    • Registration

      When visiting, you have to register with an office to make sure the reservation of using the shelter.
    • Payment

      After confirming the reservation, you have to pay at the appointed shelter on the day of visiting.
Hours of admission to the Shelter
  • * in summer time (April to October) : 18:00 ~ 19:00 / in winter time (November to March) : 17:00 ~ 18:00
Reservation
  • Reservation is conducted 2 times a month(1st and 15th). It is only available to book for another 15 days.
    * Reservation available from the first day of the month, from the 16th of the month to the end of the month.
    * Reservation available from the 15th of the month, from the first day of the next month to the 15th of the next month.
    * If the launch date(1st and 15th) is holiday, it will be delayed to the nearest weekday.
    * If the end of the month is holiday, the reservation available is extended to the end of the holiday.
  • Reservation is for maximum 4 people, including yourself. Reservation at the box office on the day or telephone booking is not allowed.
Registration
  • When visiting, you have to register with an office to make sure the reservation of using the shelter.
  • For registration, you and your companions need an ID card or passport for identification.
  • You should notice the closing time of registration and trekking time regulation when planning the route.
  • Registration is not for sale, and it cannot be ceded or transferred to make a sound trekking culture.
Wait-list System (for Awaiters)
  • When you are on the waiting list, you have priority for the extra tickets, not for the waiting line at the entrance.
  • The waiters who take the extra ticket will get an email for the final confirmation.
  • Waiting list only exists when there are more people who want to make a reservation. The capacity of waiting list is up to 10% of the shelter's capacity(people).
  • If you are on a 'Waiting', you cannot change the schedule because it is not confirmed yet. Changing/Adding reservation information is only available after your reservation is confirmed.
Payment
  • After confirming the reservation, you have to pay at the appointed shelter on the day of visiting.
Shelters are not available when ...
  • There is a special weather report near the local mountain.
  • National Parks are unavailable because of unexpected disasters. (includes all of the related reservations)
  • Trekking is not allowed because of unexpected disasters.
    ※ If there is any special weather report near the mountain, reservations related with shelters will be all canceled by local offices.
Cancellation/Change
  • You can check or change the schedule of reservation on the official website of Korea National Park.
  • When you change the schedule, you cannot add more members, but can exclude them. Also, it is impossible to change the date.
  • If you cancel yourself from the reservation,other members are canceled too.
Cautions
  • Don't use cooking ware or firearms in outside of the kitchen. (There is a kitchen in shelters)
  • Don't make any trouble with others by act out of drunkenness.

Reservation

  • Reservation is conducted 2 times a month(1st and 15th), at 10:00am.
  • Reservation is still available if there are any extra tickets left before 10:00am on the day of visiting.

    e. g. Reservation available on the first day of the month, from the 16th of the month to the end of the month
    Reservation available on the 15th of the month, from the first day of the next month to the 15th of the next month
    ※ If the launch date(1st, 5th) is holiday, it will be delayed to the nearest weekday.
    ※ If the end of the month is the day before holiday(including saturday), the reservation available is extended to the end of the holiday.

Capacity (for reservation)

  • Maximum 2 tickets are allowed for one person.
    (The date can't be overlapped.)
    Maximum 4 people including yourself are assigned for one ticket.

What is the Waiting number ticket?

  • The waiting number ticket means the priority for extra tickets left from changes or cancellation.

What is the Wait-list System (for Awaiters)?

  • If there are any extra tickets left, people on the waiting list will have the priority for the tickets in turn.

Capacity (for Awaiters)

  • The capacity of waiting list is up to 10%(round off to the nearest whole number) of the shelter's capacity(people).

    ※ Waiting lists are expired on 2 days before the appointed date at 24:00. If there is any extra tickets left (from the expiration to 10:00am on the appointed date), they can be booked on the website by order of time.
    ※ The waiters who take the extra ticket will get an email. But you should check your reservation on the website in case you don't get the email.

Capacity for the waiting list

  • Maximum 3 schedules are available for one's waiting list.
    Each schedule should have another shelters.

Reservation Cancellation and Change of the Awaiters' reservation status

  • If you exclude yourself from the reservation, other members are excluded too.
  • You can't change the dateor the shelter.
    (Excluding/Changing your companions is only allowed)

Cancelation of All Visitors in the Waiting List

  • Waiting lists are expired on 2 days before the appointed date at 24:00.

    e. g.) If the appointed date is 10th of February, its waiting list is expired on the 8th of February at 24:00.

Payment

Payment :
You should pay at the appointed shelter on the day of visiting.
